Rich Jackson, the general manager and editor of the Sawyer County Record, joined our lunch meeting to discuss the state of the newspaper industry as well as journalism in our county. A native of Chippewa Falls, Wis., Rich returned to our state last year after a long history of editorial roles throughout the country. He shared the importance of journalism in today’s world in which so many people get their information or news from non-credible sources. “We always show our work,” he said. Rich also talked about the importance of the reporting that is done in the Sawyer County Record as a means to document history.
