During the summer, Horse Spirit held a series of 3-hour Equine Learning workshops. During lunch, the women of the Piecemakers Quilts of Valor Stitchers presented Quilts of Valor to all of the Veterans in attendance. Following the presentations, lunch was served. Then, all participants and their guests were transported by bus to the Namekagon River for 3-hours of kayaking and canoeing coordinated by Wisconsin Hero Outdoors.
During January and March, 2022, Horse Spirit and Wisconsin Hero Outdoors held two six-hour ice fishing events. Horse Spirit also provided major funding so that auction items could be purchased in support of the Ryley Holden fund raising events. Ryley is a young local veteran battling brain cancer.
Plans are in place to again hold a series of workshops in the Spring and Summer. Horse Spirit will also continue to underwrite worthy alternative veteran support activities that are requested through its website.
